A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has issued an interim order suspending the release and launch of Omoni Oboli's movie ''Okafor's Law' following an exparte application filed by Rancoteur Productions Ltd, on behalf of Jude Idada, a Canada based script writer who is laying claim to the film as his intellectual property.
The plantiff filed the suit through Anthony Idigbe halting the premiere and release of the movie pending the determination of a copyright infringement suit filed against Omoni Oboli, Dioni Visions Entertainment and The Filmore Ltd.
Delivering his ruling, Justice Ibrahim Buba granted the order as prayed.
Okafor's Law, a star-studded movie, features Richard Mofe Damijo, Toyin Aimakhu, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Ken Erics, Ufuoma McDermott, Kemi Lala Akindoju, Yvonne Jegede, Halima Abubakar, Mary Lazarus, Uche Nnaji, Betty Irabor, Tina Mba, Gabriel Afolayan, and Funke Bucknor.
Directed by Omoni Oboli, a popular Nollywood director, producer and screenwriter.
The court has fixed March 29th for hearing.
